Making it in the starch processing business requires a keen eye for raw material quality and the ability to get the most out of your raw materials. A general rule of thumb is: the more refined the product, the more valuable it becomes. Starch, a white, granular, organic chemical that is produced by all green plants. Starch is a soft, white, tasteless powder that is insoluble in cold water, alcohol, or other solvents. There are five commonly available starch types potato, wheat, tapioca, corn and rice starch.
